Dress up days here

Last Friday Room 3 and some of the School had a dress up character day!!!!
I was Little Red Riding Hood. My Gran made me this lovely red cape with blue material inside, and a hood with a soft bit aroud the edge! I also had a basket with a tea-towel over top. Lots of people were witches and Pippi Longstocking. My teacher was a witch. Mum said that she had forgotten her broom - stick!!!!!!
I couldn't wait to get into my costume. It was an excellent day!

The Elves and the Shoemaker - Ella

Once upon a time there lived a poor old shoemaker and his wife. They were very sad because they had no money to buy any food. That night the old shoemaker cut some leather and put it on the table and went to bed. In the morning he went downstairs and he noticed beautiful fine shoes on the bench. That night he cut out 2 pieces of leather then went to bed. In the morning he found 2 pairs of shoes. That night he did the same thing but then he cut out 4 pieces of leather. Then he went to bed. In the morning he found 4 pairs of shoes. That night he said to his wife “How will we see who has been making all of those shoes?” “Well,” said his wife “we can light a candle and hide behind the counter. So that night they hid behind the counter and lit a candle. At midnight 2 elves rushed in the door and started making the shoes. They polished them till they shone in the moonlight. When they had finished the shoes they ran out the door. In the morning the shoemaker said to his wife “those elves have been working so hard how we will repay them?” “Well, I can make them a cap and some clothes and you could make them some shoes.”
Finally the wife had made them some clothes. The shoemaker was extremely proud of the shoes he made. He was so proud of them he wrapped them up and carefully put them on the table. Then the wife and shoemaker went to bed. In the middle of the night the elves came skipping in the door. Instead of leather on the table there was a bunch of presents wrapped up for them! They opened the present with great excitement. When they saw what was in the presents they ripped off their clothes and put on their new suits. Then they skipped out the door singing “Oh what handsome boys we are, we will never make shoes again!” So the wife and the shoemaker were rich and lived happily ever after.
